For example, participation in courses, trainings, e-learning courses, presentation of posters at conferences, conference presentations, publications in reviewed magazines, obtaining grants (project managers), popularisation activities etc.
During doctoral studies at the Nencki Institute, it is required to obtain 30-45 ETCS points, including at least 5 ETCS points for facultative activities which prepare the doctoral student for work of research or research and development nature (bolded).
During the first two years of the doctoral studies, the students of the doctoral studies at the Nencki Institute are bound to pass one (selected from the two mentioned below) course of thematic lectures, agreed with the thesis supervisor, ending with an examination. Every year, one of the two courses is organised interchangeably: "Biochemistry and molecular biology", "Basic neurobiology". The thematic lecture from the other course may be selected by the doctoral students as one of additional lectures, in agreement with the scientific supervisor.
